چکیده

The experimental material of present study comprised 127 treatments and 4 check varieties in augmented design conducted during rabi season (2022) research field Genetics Plant Breeding, Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, India. Observations were recorded for days to 50% heading, maturity, plant height, number productive tillers per plant, ear length, spikelets ear, weight, grains test biological yield harvest index, chlorophyll content grain plant. Analysis variance disclosed that are highly significant all the characters. Phenotypic coefficient variation noted higher magnitude than genotypic traits. Heritability combined with genetic advance as percent mean is high height. correlation assessed positive weight length. Grain association (0.7816), (0.7051), index (0.527), (0.4076), height (0.3632), (0.3222), length (0.2439), whereas negatively significantly associated heading (-0.4019) maturity (-0.4019). findings from path analysis unveiled maximum direct effect was maturity. Out thirteen traits, eight traits exhibited on such (0.8282), (0.6061), (0.107), (0.0191), (0.0138), (0.011), (0.0088), (0.0001).

Development and Characterization of a New TILLING Population of Common Bread Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

Mutagenesis is an important tool in crop improvement. However, the hexaploid genome of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) presents problems in identifying desirable genetic changes based on phenotypic screening due to gene redundancy. TILLING (Targeting Induced Local Lesions IN Genomes), a powerful reverse genetic strategy that allows the detection of induced point mutations in individuals of the mut...

Genetic Diversity and Population Structure Analysis of European Hexaploid Bread Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Varieties

Progress in plant breeding is facilitated by accurate information about genetic structure and diversity. Here, Diversity Array Technology (DArT) was used to characterize a population of 94 bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) varieties of mainly European origin. In total, 1,849 of 7,000 tested markers were polymorphic and could be used for population structure analysis. Two major subgroups of whe...

Distribution of gluten proteins in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) grain.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Gluten proteins are the major storage protein fraction in the mature wheat grain. They are restricted to the starchy endosperm, which forms white flour on milling, and interact during grain development to form large polymers which form a continuous proteinaceous network when flour is mixed with water to give dough. This network confers viscosity and elasticity to the dough, ...

Single-nucleotide polymorphism frequency in a set of selected lines of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.).

Information on single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in hexaploid bread wheat is still scarce. The goal of this study was to detect SNPs in wheat and examine their frequency. Twenty-six bread wheat lines from different origins worldwide were used. Specific PCR-products were obtained from 21 genes and directly sequenced. SNPs were discovered from the alignment of these sequences. The overall se...

The wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) leaf proteome.

The wheat leaf proteome was mapped and partially characterized to function as a comparative template for future wheat research. In total, 404 proteins were visualized, and 277 of these were selected for analysis based on reproducibility and relative quantity. Using a combination of protein and expressed sequence tag database searching, 142 proteins were putatively identified with an identificat...
